Location, daily routines, the seasons you plan to spend here, the amount of land you want to look after and the way you want to use the house all matter.
When my husband and I started looking for our own home in Puglia, we had a list too. Over the course of a year we viewed more than fifty houses, and it was only by spending time here and walking through so many of them that we discovered which questions really mattered.
At times it felt frustrating, even hopeless. More than once I saw the potential of a house clearly, only to find that what I had in mind was not feasible.
That experience changed the way I look at houses, and it has become a natural extension of my work as an interior designer: seeing not only what a house could become, but whether it realistically can.
