Practice Space | Career Coach

Biophilic Design Practice Space, Home office

This project shows how thoughtful design can transform a dedicated workspace into a place that feels both professional and personal. Designed as a home office for a career coach, the brief asked for a space that offers privacy and calm for coaching sessions, while remaining warm and approachable. This is one of the realised projects in my portfolio.

Biophilic Balance: Where Career & Well-being Meet

This home office was designed to serve a dual purpose, a professional setting for coaching sessions and a functional workspace for daily administrative tasks. The brief was clear: privacy and calm on the inside, warm and approachable from the outside. The result is a space that fosters focus and professionalism while remaining genuinely welcoming.

My approach

Initial Visit & Interview

My client wanted a home office where she could work as a coach with her clients and carry out her administrative tasks.

To understand her aesthetic preferences, I started by presenting her with different colour schemes, a simple but effective way to get a clear sense of what truly resonated with her.

Mood board

After she selected a colour scheme, I created a mood board followed by an atmospheric impression to double-check if it aligned with what she was looking for.

Floorplan

My process continued with a detailed 2D design, providing a clear layout and structure for the space.

3D impression

The 2D concept was then transformed into 3D impressions, allowing my client to visualise the space realistically. This step-by-step approach ensures a well-considered design that aligns with the client’s vision and expectations.

Furniture plan and Material Board

With the concept confirmed, I developed a detailed furniture plan and material board to bring the design to life.

Final Adjustments

After presenting the material board and furniture plan, my client expressed a desire to integrate some of her existing furniture into the design. Based on evolving insights, she decided she needed a larger desk with chairs for visitors, which led her to forgo the proposed sofa to make room for this adjustment.

She also requested a different wallpaper than the one originally proposed. Together we explored alternatives that complemented the design while being less prominent. She chose a beautiful organic pattern from ARTE wallpaper: Manila Spiral.

The final result is a beautiful mix of her own furniture and carefully selected new pieces, creating a unique sense of identity and a fresh, cosy design.

Brigitte has been a tremendous help in designing my practice space. By asking the right questions, she was able to fully understand my needs in terms of functionality, atmosphere, and style. Then she did her magic and presented a beautiful design that I was immediately excited about!

Brigitte also assisted in selecting the right furniture to complement the design.

I am very happy with my practice space, and my clients have responded very positively; they feel at ease and comfortable.
